The incident’s dramatic images were recorded by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, and they have since gone viral on social media.
A cab driver and the police bravely saved a 57-year-old woman on Friday who was about to plunge into the sea from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Trans Harbour Link bridge (also known as Atal Setu) in Nhava Sheva. The woman is shown being grabbed by the taxi driver in CCTV footage that has gone viral on social media, right before she tries to leap from the bridge.
The police estimate that the event happened about 7:00 p.m. According to The Times of India, the Mulund-born lady had requested that 31-year-old Sanjay Yadav stop the cab on the bridge so that she might submerge holy pictures in the water.
The woman was crossing the rail and the automobile had stopped, according to a report the police received.
An anonymous police officer was reported by The Indian Express as stating, “The Nhava Sheva Traffic Branch Patrolling One got a call that a vehicle has stopped on the Atal Setu bridge on the road heading to Shelghar Toll Naka and a woman is doing something by crossing the railing of the bridge.”
The driver reportedly stopped the woman from jumping into the water when she saw the cops and grabbed her by the hair. In a hurry, four constables leaped across the bridge to save her. When the lady noticed the police, the driver allegedly prevented her from diving into the water and grabbed her by the hair. Four constables hurried across the bridge to her rescue.
According to PTI, the woman admitted to the police that she panicked and lost her balance when she saw them coming.
