Along with calling the chief minister anti-reservations, female RJD lawmakers were also in the well, yelling things like “Nitish Kumar Hai Hai (down with Nitish Kumar)”.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, came under fire on Wednesday from the RJD for yelling at female opposition members within the assembly.

Kumar’s outburst coincided with opposition members’ demands, made in the House well, to have the state’s new reservation rules included in the Constitution’s 9th schedule, which would shield them from judicial review.

Along with calling the chief minister anti-reservations, female RJD lawmakers were also in the well, yelling things like “Nitish Kumar Hai Hai (down with Nitish Kumar)”.

The seventy-nine-year-old chief minister lost his temper.

Kumar said, “You are a woman,” gesturing with his fingers at the lawmakers, pointing specifically at Rekha Devi of the RJD. Are you aware that women in Bihar have only been receiving their just compensation after I came to power? Despite being a woman, you still lack knowledge. The enraged CM said, “If you say Hai Hai to me, then it’s Hai Hai for all.”

“You all agreed to a caste survey at my request, and as a result, quotas for SC, ST, OBCs, and the most backward classes were increased,” Kumar stated.

He informed the House of the state’s approach to the Supreme Court following the Patna High Court’s invalidation of the reservation legislation.

Kumar stated, “A formal request has also been made to the Center for those to be included in the 9th schedule.”

Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, described this as “a very serious and worrying issue for the state” on his official X account.

The Bihar administration persuaded the central government to include the increased reservation for underprivileged castes in state government positions and educational institutions from fifty to sixty-five percent in the Constitution’s ninth schedule.

A list of federal and state laws that are unchallengeable in court is contained in the 9th Schedule. The Supreme Court set a 50% ceiling on reservations for the underprivileged classes in 1992.

RJD members attacked the chief minister outside the chamber for his actions against female lawmakers while he was in the chamber.

Rabri Devi, the leader of the opposition in the state legislative council, stated, “With the CM, this has occurred before. People are aware of CM’s lack of regard for women. Everything he did in the assembly today is an outright disrespect to women.

Women are not respected by NDA leaders, the former chief minister claimed.

She asserted, “Only RJD and INDIA block leaders have respect for women.”

“Whatever Nitish Kumar ji said today in the assembly is insulting to a woman,” RJD MLA Rekha Devi said in a statement to PTI. Not Nitish Kumar, but our leader and party chief Lalu Prasad is the reason we are here today. He abused a Dalit lawmaker in the parliament today. It appears that CM lacks mental self-control.
