After working for prestigious firms like JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, the woman quit her lucrative career to pursue her real love of online clothing sales.

As a child of immigrants, Zoreen Kabani “grew up very thrifty” and said she loved “finding deals.” Despite cultural pressures in Pakistan to enter fields like finance, engineering, or medicine, Kabani followed her love for fashion and started selling clothes online, quickly turning it into a successful business.

With full focus on her business, Kabani earned over $100,000 (about Rs 83 lakh) each month. Kabani is originally from Pakistan and is currently based in California, US. In 2022, Kabani made a surprising career shift from her high-paying finance job to her true passion of selling clothes online.

Kabani started her work with Goldman Sachs in 2010 shortly after receiving her degrees in finance, and in 2013, she transferred to JPMorgan Chase. She had high-profile gigs, but she was never really content. She made the brave choice to quit her work in April 2022 to pursue a meaningful or creative endeavor.

A few months later, she was introduced to Whatnot, an auction program that allows users to sell things in real time, by her younger brother. Kabani rapidly developed a strong interest in and fascination with the app’s women’s fashion section.

She launched her page, zkstyles, in less than a month, and she frequently made over $100,000 a month with it. Zoreen Kabani utilized her expertise to identify about 50 goods to sell from charity stores and clearance sales after putting up her first live stream. She drew in about fifty viewers for her first stream, of whom twenty to thirty made a purchase.

She said, “I believe I had some old T-shirts in there.”Some adorable Nike sweatshirts for women’s fashion. After working in sales for around 13 years, it seemed like a logical next step for me to speak about products in front of the camera. And I thought it was fantastic.

Kabani started to notice success as she kept up her live streaming and was able to save money. She decided to convert her side project into full-time employment after a few months. She set up a consistent streaming schedule, Monday through Friday, emulating her corporate schedule to make her business stand out. In addition to showcasing merchandise, Kabani provided her audience with style and fashion guidance. She made over $12,000 (about Rs 10 lakh) in her first month alone, and she has sold over 75,000 things on the marketplace to date.
