A powerful new documentary titled “Ayurveda – The Double Helix of Life” is all set to hit cinema screens on June 11, aiming to bridge the gap between ancient Indian medicine and modern science.
Directed by national award-winning filmmaker Vinod Mankara, the English-language docu-film delves into the scientific relevance and global application of Ayurveda, one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. The 90-minute documentary features inputs from over 50 international experts and includes collaborations with the World Health Organization, offering a research-backed narrative that dispels myths and misconceptions surrounding Ayurvedic medicine.

The film explores Ayurveda’s role in treating various modern health challenges such as infertility, kidney stones, diabetic neuropathy, and Parkinson’s disease. With real-life case studies and global perspectives, it highlights how this ancient system is finding renewed acceptance in contemporary medical practices.
Produced by Dr. A V Anoop and supported by the Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India, the documentary seeks to inform and inspire both medical professionals and the general public. According to Mankara, the goal is to “showcase the scientific side of Ayurveda and restore faith in a system that has been misinterpreted over time.”
The film will premiere in New Delhi on June 11, with plans for further screenings across major Indian cities and international platforms.
