Priyanka Gill, a cofounder of direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup Good Glamm Group, is leaving her active role to join early-stage venture firm Kalaari Capital as a venture partner.

Gill will also join Good Glamm’s board of directors and become chairwoman of Good Media Co, which oversees the group’s digital media division, according to a press statement. Gill joined Good Glamm when it bought her content community startup, PopXo, in 2020.

According to Good Glamm, Gill is already involved in CXXO, a Kalaari Capital programme to encourage firms founded by female founders. According to the announcement, Gill will now take the lead on the endeavour.

“This action reflects her great leadership and vision. I am equally excited for Priyanka to join our friends at Kalaari Capital, and I am confident that she will continue to make valuable contributions to the success of the Good Glamm Group and leave an indelible mark in her new role at Kalaari Capital’, said Darpan Sanghvi, Good Glamm’s group founder and CEO.

On January 11, ET reported that the ecommerce aggregator industry, which includes companies like Good Glamm and Goat Brand Labs, was in trouble, with several companies halting buyouts due to a lack of cash.

Good Glamm is projected to expand at a slower rate in the current fiscal year as it works to decrease cash burn and enhance profitability, according to individuals familiar with the matter.

The company is organised into three segments: Good businesses Co, which runs direct-to-consumer beauty and personal care businesses, Good Media Co, which operates digital media companies such as PopXo and Miss Malini, and Good Creator Co, which operates influencer companies such as Plixxo and Winkl.

The Moms Co., which provides mother and baby care, was acquired by the company in March of last year. The company’s net loss increased by more than six times to Rs 273 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2022, despite operating revenue of Rs 240 crore. It is yet to file financials for fiscal year 23.

The Good Glamm Group is supported by Prosus, Bessemer Venture Partners, Accel, and Trifecta Capital.
