The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the NEET UG 2025 final answer key and with it, the much-discussed issue of ambiguous questions has come to light once again. According to the updated key, at least two questions in each paper set had more than one correct answer—raising important concerns among aspirants and educators alike.
Students from across the country had flagged these questions shortly after the exam was conducted, citing confusing language and overlapping answer options. Following the review process, NTA accepted that some questions indeed had multiple correct choices. As per their marking policy:
- If multiple options are correct, candidates who selected any one of the correct options will be awarded full 4 marks.
- If all four options are correct or the question is deemed invalid, then all candidates who attempted the question will receive 4 marks.
- If a question is dropped entirely due to errors, everyone—regardless of whether they attempted it or not—receives full marks.
For example, in Set QP 45, Question 63 became a flashpoint among aspirants. Many claimed that the wording allowed for more than one technically correct answer, and demanded it be nullified. The final answer key now confirms that multiple correct answers were accepted for this question.
This policy has become especially significant as NEET UG is a high-stakes exam that determines admission into medical colleges across India. A few marks—whether gained or lost—can drastically impact a candidate’s All India Rank (AIR), percentile, and seat allotment.

Discontent Among Students
Despite the clarity in policy, students continue to raise concerns over the transparency of the question review process. Some argue that the NTA should proactively release a list of all such ambiguous questions and explain the resolution for each. Others have filed petitions or complaints demanding that more questions be reviewed or marks be awarded generously in the event of doubt.
In Tamil Nadu, a petition filed earlier this week demanded that power outages during the exam be investigated and that results be withheld until fairness was ensured. While the Madras High Court initially stayed the result, it lifted the stay just before the final answer key was made public.
Result Declaration
The NEET UG 2025 results are expected to be released today, June 14, on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Students can check their scorecards, AIR, and cut-off marks category-wise once the link is activated.
For those questioning the impact of these “multiple correct answer” questions, NTA assures that the final score will reflect the fair application of its answer key policy.
