Sheikh Hasina traveled to New Delhi to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministerial council take office. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was visited in New Delhi by Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairman Sonia Gandhi, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The prime minister of Bangladesh was at the nation’s capital to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his council of ministers being sworn in.
The bond between Sheikh Hasina’s forebears and the Gandhi family is the source of their connection. The father of Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was a friendly and cordial relationship’s founder of Bangladesh’s prime minister, Indira Gandhi. Due in large part to Indira Gandhi’s backing of Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, there has long been appreciation and respect for one another.
Top leaders from India’s neighborhood and the Indian Ocean region, such as President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of Nepal, and President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka, were present at the high-profile event that Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi for on Saturday.
According to an official release, President Droupadi Murmu hosted a feast for international dignitaries at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Sunday.
Muhammad Hasan Mahmud, the foreign minister of Bangladesh, stated that Sheikh Hasina has shown her desire to collaborate with the incoming administration in the future to deepen the relationship.
“PM Sheikh Hasina met with PM Narendra Modi one-on-one after attending the oath-taking ceremony (of PM Modi and the council of ministers), during which she once more congratulated him and the NDA on winning the elections. Hasan Mahmud told ANI, “She expresses her willingness to work with the new government in the future to strengthen the ties.”
