Sudha Murty, an author, philanthropist, and Rajya Sabha MP, recently published a video describing what gender equality means to her. On Thursday, Ms Murty expressed her belief that men and women are “like two wheels of a bicycle” on X (previously Twitter). “In my opinion, men and women are equal, but in different ways. “They complement each other like two wheels on a bicycle; you can’t move forward without the other,” she wrote in the video.
In the video, Ms Murty asked, “What is equality?” “You should define it first.” “You know both genders are different,” she added. Ms Murty, the former chairman of Infosys, elaborated on her statement later in the video.

In the video Mrs Murty explains how women are “wired” differently than men. She stated that women are “normally very good at languages”. She describes them as good supervisors who are kind and giving. Men, on the other hand, are “different,” Ms Murty explained. “They’re wired differently. They do not have the same emotional quotient as women. “They may have a high IQ (intelligence quotient), but they lack EQ (emotional quotient),” she stated.
Ms Murty’s video has received over 4,740 views since it was shared. Social media users provided a variety of remarks in response to her views on gender equality. “So true!!” commented one commenter.
“That’s quite true. “We’re on the same page,” remarked another.
“True. Both encounter difficult challenges in life. “Without both, nature is incomplete,” said a third.
