Google has officially launched Doppl, a new AI-driven mobile app that allows users to try on clothes virtually using a personalized digital avatar. The app, developed by Google Labs, is currently available in the United States for both Android and iOS devices.

With Doppl, users can create a stylized version of themselves by uploading a full-body photo. The app then uses AI to simulate how different outfits would look on the user’s body, offering a realistic and personalized virtual try-on experience. Users can upload clothing images from any source—screenshots, websites, or photos—and apply them to their avatar to see how the outfit fits and moves.
One of the app’s standout features is the ability to generate short animated previews, showing how the fabric might flow or behave when worn. This gives users a better sense of fit and style, going beyond traditional static try-on tools.
“Doppl is designed to bring fashion and technology together in a practical, fun, and personalized way,” Google said in a statement. “It’s not just about seeing the clothes—it’s about seeing them on you.”
Users can also save their favorite outfits, organize looks, and share them with friends for feedback. The app aims to make online shopping more confident and creative by reducing uncertainty over fit and appearance.
While the app is still in its early experimental phase, Google has hinted at ongoing improvements and potential expansion based on user feedback. A global release date has not yet been announced.
With Doppl, Google takes a significant step into the intersection of AI and fashion, offering a glimpse into the future of digital styling and virtual shopping.
