Savitri Jindal, the richest woman in India, has seen a startling rise in her wealth by $9.6 billion in 2023. This is significantly more than the Ambani and Birla families’ combined wealth rise, according to figures from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. With a net worth of $92.3 billion, Reliance Industries (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani continues to be the richest Indian.

According to an ET article, his wealth climbed by about $5 billion in 2023—nearly half of what Jindal gained.

With a net worth of $25.3 billion, Savitri Jindal, who is 73 years old, is now the richest woman in the subcontinent and the fifth richest Indian. She is in charge of an organisation that runs publicly traded businesses like JSW Steel, Jindal Steel & Power, JSW Energy, Jindal Saw, Jindal Stainless, and JSW Holdings, an investment firm.

In addition, she owns 83 percent of the OP Jindal Group, which is the owner of JSW Infrastructure, a port operator that went public in October of this year. Presently, the Jindal family is thinking about listing JSW Cement in 2024.

The second-highest gainer on the list, after Jindal, is Shiv Nadar of HCL Tech, whose net worth increased by about $8 billion to $32.6 billion. The promoters own about 61% of the IT major, and in 2023, the share price of the company increased by 45%.

The fortune of Shapoor Mistry and Kumar Mangalam Birla increased by $6.3 billion throughout the course of the year.

On the list of richest Indians, Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of the massive IT company HCL Technologies, comes in second place after Mukesh Ambani. In 2023, his fortune increased by over $8 billion, making him worth roughly $32.6 billion.

Dilip Shanghvi, the MD of Sun Pharma, saw a $4.7 billion increase in fortune, while Mukesh Ambani’s wealth increased by an additional $5.2 billion. Sunil Mittal, MP Lodha, and Ravi Jaipuria are among the other noteworthy movers on the list.

Gautam Adani, the billionaire, on the other hand, saw his wealth diminish in 2023. Adani’s net worth decreased by $35.4 billion even though the share prices of his ten listed group companies rose somewhat. Nonetheless, Bloomberg reports that with an estimated net worth of $85.1 billion, he is still the second richest Indian.

With a net worth of $92.3 billion, Mukesh Ambani is the wealthiest person in both Asia and India. He is ranked 13th globally. In contrast, Adani, who ranks No. 15 on the global ranking, is the second-richest Indian. Adani was the richest person in Asia and the third richest person in the world before the Hindenburg scandal earlier this year.
