Chennai, May 16, 2025 — The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has officially released the results for the Higher Secondary Examination (+1), commonly known as Class 11, for the academic year 2024-25. The result link was activated today at 2 PM on the official websites, enabling lakhs of students to access their provisional marks memo.

Candidates who appeared for the exams can now check their scores by visiting either tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in. The results are also available via DigiLocker at results.digilocker.gov.in and through the TN DGE’s mobile application.
Over 7.4 Lakh Students Pass; Girls Outshine Boys
This year, the pass percentage stood at 92.09%, with 7,43,232 students successfully clearing the examination. Continuing the trend, girls outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 95.13%, while boys achieved 88.70%.
Stream-wise performance reveals Science students leading with a 95.08% pass rate, followed by Commerce at 87.33%, Arts at 77.94%, and Vocational stream at 78.31%.
Step-by-Step Guide to Download Your Marks Memo
- Visit the official website — tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in.
- Click on “HSE (+1) March 2025 Results”.
- Enter your registration number and date of birth in the prescribed format.
- Click on “Get Marks” to view your result.
- Download and print the provisional marks memo.
The provisional online marks memo will serve as a temporary document until students receive their official mark sheets from their respective schools.
Minimum Passing Marks and Evaluation Rules
To qualify, students must secure a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 in each subject. For subjects with a 70-mark theory component, at least 15 marks in theory is essential to pass. There are no minimum requirements for internal or practical assessments.
Revaluation and Supplementary Exam Details
The DGE will soon release a schedule for revaluation and re-totalling applications. Students unsatisfied with their scores will be allowed to request a review. Those who failed to clear one or more subjects can appear for the supplementary exams, with dates expected to be announced in the coming days.
Original Mark Sheets to Be Issued by Schools
While students can access and download their marks online, the original hard-copy mark sheets will be distributed by their schools. Authorities advise students to stay in contact with their school administration for collection dates.
