The victim was named as Swati, the police said. While she was in her home with her father-in-law (Shayam) and mother-in-law (Seema), she was shot and killed. Both Seema and Shayam attempted to elude the authorities by claiming that Swati passed away as a result of a mobile charger explosion; as a result, the police have filed charges against them.

Rajiv, the accused, was allegedly on the run. The story goes that on Saturday night when Swati resisted his advances, he shot her dead with a locally manufactured h

andgun (katta). The family comes from the Uttar Pradesh district of Moradabad. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Om Parkash, the case’s investigating officer, stated that Swati, Seema, and Shyam, her older son, were in her house when the crime was committed.

When Swati protested Rajiv’s harassment at her home, he became upset, pulled out his “katta,” and shot Swati, killing her. He left the scene of the event. Shivam, who was not at home at the time, was notified by Swati’s son, according to the ASI. stating that the authorities were looking into how the accused obtained the firearm.

According to the inquiry, Swati had complained to her husband and other family members about the accused’s long-term harassment of her, and she had also informed them about the accused’s approaches.

The accused was the subject of a complaint filed at the Sohana police station under sections 103 (murder) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other provisions of the Arms Act. Following the Sunday postmortem and cremation, the corpse was given to the family. Her three children and husband both survive Swati.
