At UC Berkeley, 19-year-old Marco Troper, the son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, passed suddenly. His granny thinks he may have overdosed on drugs. The reason of death is still a mystery.
The 19-year-old son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Marco Troper, has died. Troper, who was discovered unconscious at UC Berkeley’s Clark Kerr Campus dorm on Tuesday afternoon, was receiving life-saving treatment, according to a PEOPLE story that said the Berkeley Fire Department informed campus police.
Troper was declared dead shortly after, the report stated, despite the fire department’s best attempts.
Troper’s grandma, Esther Wojcicki, posted on Facebook, saying, “Tragedy hit my family yesterday.” Marco Troper, my cherished 19-year-old grandson, departed from us yesterday. Our family is incomprehensibly heartbroken. Marco was the most attractive, intelligent, loving, fun, and kind person you could meet. He had just begun his second semester as a freshman at UC Berkeley, where he was studying in mathematics and genuinely enjoying it.”
“He was thriving academically and had a strong community of friends from his fraternity Zeta Psi and his dorm at Stern Hall,” she said. He used to regale us with countless tales about his time at Berkeley and his buddies back home. Too little time was spent with Marco. We are all inconsolable when we consider all the chances and experiences in life that he and we will both lose out on. Marco, you have no idea how much we all adore and miss you.
The University of California Police Department, meanwhile, reportedly told PEOPLE that there were no signs of foul play, even if the cause of death is still unknown.
But Esther said she thought the UC Berkeley student had overdosed on drugs and died. “We don’t know what was in the drug that he ingested,” she said to the San Francisco publication SFGATE. He was the perfect example of what a son and grandson might be. He was meant to make a difference,” she remarked, calling it tragic.
