A 17-year-old Dalit girl in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly raped by two guys while in a moving automobile. The incident occurred after the suspects, Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Rizwan, allegedly persuaded the girl into their vehicle.
Following the incident, the automobile struck an electric pole, and the attackers fled. The defendants were apprehended following a complaint submitted by the victim’s mother.
According to Manoj Kumar Pathak, the officer in charge of the City Police Station, the complaint was filed on Sunday, following the Saturday event. “The woman has written in the complaint that her daughter was lured by Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Rizwan and dragged inside their car,” Pathak told the jury.
The two guys drove the victim to a remote location along the Circular Road, where they reportedly raped her in the moving automobile. The assault stopped abruptly when they lost control of the vehicle and collided with an electric pole. As a result, the offenders fled, abandoning the vehicle.
The woman was able to return home and alert her family about the event, causing her mother to call the authorities the next day. The police promptly apprehended the accused after filing a FIR.
Pathak said that “the girl has been sent for a medical examination.”
The police retrieved the car Arif claimed he borrowed from a friend under the guise of attending a relative’s funeral. The investigation is underway.
