Hyderabad: Dr. Shilpa Reddy, the head of the BJP Mahila Morcha State, blasted the state administration led by the Congress for providing unequal treatment to women in the State Budget for 2024–25.
She said on Friday that the budget unfairly targeted the women of Telangana. If the promises made to women are not kept, she threatened to call for a large-scale dharna at the Ambedkar Chowrasta next to the Telugu Talli overpass on behalf of the BJP State Mahila Morcha.
She said that the budget does not account for the commitments made to women and that there is no indication of when the promised Rs 4,000 pension will be paid. Similarly, other than providing Scooties and Rs 5 lakh Bharosa cards for female students, the budget did not include implementing the Rs 2,500 aid under the Mahalakshmi initiative for every woman in the state.
“Will Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi and Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi respond to the electoral pledges made to women in the form of six assurances before the elections? Or will the government’s female ministers respond? she questioned.
