The woman claimed to have traveled to Pakistan to visit someone she had grown to know on social networking.

Thane Police charged a 23-year-old woman with using forged documents to get a passport that allowed her to enter Pakistan. Based on evidence provided by the authorities, the mother and her daughter went to Pakistan after obtaining a forged passport and visa.

The Vartak Nagar Police have also filed a complaint against the lady and an unidentified individual who assisted her in preparing the fake documents by the Indian Passport Act and other provisions. According to authorities, Nagma Noor Maqsood Ali, also known as Sanam Khan, was the primary culprit in the case.

Khan had managed to get her hands on a forged PAN card, Aadhar card, and minor daughter’s birth certificate. An official at the Vartak Nagar Police Station stated that the accused used these documents when applying for a passport. Sanam Khan traveled to Pakistan after obtaining her passport and visa based on the papers. Before going back to India, the lady had spent 1.5 months in Pakistan.

In addition, the police said that the incident occurred in May of 2023–2024. Khan has been placed under arrest, and more research is being done on the matter. It was gazetted that Khan had claimed she had changed her name. The accused, however, has not provided the police with any documentation about her name change.

Based on his prior name, Maqsood Ali has been recognized as the woman’s spouse. But the cops have been questioning Khan since they don’t know anything about Maqsood. According to Sanam Khan’s original testimony given to the Thane Police, she flew to Pakistan to visit this person after becoming friends on the social media platform Instagram.

The link between the accused and the man in Pakistan is also being looked at by the police.
