Officials reported that a little boy was taken to a juvenile home on Monday in connection with the purported sexual assault and killing of a three-year-old girl in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The uncle of the boy has been taken into custody for allegedly attempting to hide the incident.
The toddler was sexually molested by the teenager, who is estimated to be around 15 years old, and when she cried, he smothered her to death, according to the officials.
A neighbourhood citizen informed the girl’s mother that she had been spotted with the boy while searching for her daughter. According to officials, the mother went back to check the neighbourhood after learning from the boy’s uncle that the daughter was not at his house.
After that, she returned to the boy’s home and made a request to see him. According to officials, she insisted on opening the bathroom door after hearing from her uncle that the kid was in there. The boy eventually succeeded in unlocking the door after much effort, and the girl was discovered unconscious inside.
After being sent to a private hospital, the girl was turned away. After being sent to a government hospital, she was declared dead. She suffered injury marks on her private regions, according to a post-mortem study, an official stated.
“We have booked the boy for rape and his uncle for trying to conceal the incident under sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” stated Umesh Kashyap, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Bilaspur. The uncle was taken into custody and the boy was placed in a correctional facility.
