When authorities discovered a man’s decapitated head and other body parts packed in a taped-up freezer at a Brooklyn apartment, they detained a woman in New York City.
After receiving a tip that a body was possibly being “stored” in the residential complex, the police arrived at a flat on the fourth floor of the building on Monday around 6:15 am (local time) and found the man’s body, Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny of the New York Police Department was quoted as saying by The New York Post on Tuesday.
He said that a post-mortem would be performed by doctors to ascertain the precise cause of death while the police identified the victim.
“While doing their inquiry, the patrol discovered various body parts in the freezer. We’re currently working to identify that individual,” the official stated.
According to sources who spoke with The New York Post, the refrigerator was sealed shut to keep the body’s horrible stench from leaking out.
“A head is here. We are not without limbs. We appear to have the entire body as of right now, Kenny remarked.
According to Kenny, the woman who was arrested “complained of illness” and was admitted to the hospital.
The official stated that because the woman was at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, investigators were unable to question her.
