According to an article in the Independent, a lady from Florida, United States, was given a one-month prison sentence for stealing US President Joe Biden’s daughter’s journal and selling it to a conservative advocacy group. The 41-year-old will serve three months in home detention and go to jail, according to a US district judge’s decision.
In 2020, Harris broke into a friend’s Florida home and took Ashley Biden’s journal and other personal items. They had been stored at home for safekeeping by the President’s daughter. Following that, Harris took a $20,000 payment for the journal’s sale from the far-right group Project Veritas. She pled guilty in 2022 to a charge of planning to move stolen items across states.

FBI agents raided the homes of Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and two associates as part of their probe into the claims. The diaries, which purportedly detailed Ms. Biden’s struggle toward recovery from drug misuse, were suppressed by Project Veritas. “Stealing personal belongings of a candidate’s family member, and selling them to an organization to exploit them for political gain, was wrong and illegal no matter the political agenda,” the attorneys stated in the sentencing brief.
